This can be given for babies above a year. This is an apt soup for your evening cravings.

Walnut Jaggery Soup for Babies, Kids, and Toddlers

Ingredients

  1. Organic Jaggery - 2 tbsp
  2. Water - 200 ml + 200 ml
  3. Ghee - As needed
  4. Walnut Powder - 2 tsp
  5. Whole Wheat - 2 tbsp
  6. Cardamom Powder - A pinch

Method

  1. At first, we will be preparing the Jaggery Water. In a wide pan take 200 ml of water, bring it to boil and switch off. To this add 2 tbsp of Jaggery Powder. We have organic jaggery powder available at our stores too. 
  2. After adding Jaggery Powder just mix well to dissolve. Sieve it and keep aside the Jaggery Water.
  3. Now in a pan add ghee, add 4- 5 pieces of Walnut. Roast them well for about 1 - 2 minutes until they smell good and they turn brown. Once cooled, take this in a small blender jar, bring it to the powder form, and keep aside.
  4. In the same pan, add about 2 tsp of ghee to it add 2 tbsp of whole wheat.
  5. Roast the wheat along with ghee until it gives a good aroma. It may take about 3 minutes. Once this is done you will get a brownish color and the texture changes from what it was before.
  6. To this roasted wheat mixture add jaggery water slowly and simultaneously mixing it using balloon whisk if available. Mix until lump-free.
  7. To this add 2 tbsp of walnut powder which is prepared before. Now add 200ml of water. We need to have a soup consistency and not too thick.
  8. Keep stirring it till it thickens and add cardamom powder. Stir it well to boiling in a medium-low flame.
  9. Switch off the flame, Healthy Delicious Walnut Jaggery Soup is ready to be served.
