Pumpkin Puree for Babies

Ingredients
- Pumpkin - 1/2 cup chopped
- Cinnamon Powder - a pinch
- Water - 1 cup
Method
- Take a piece of pumpkin, deseed and remove the skin neatly. Wash it well and chop it. Add it to a pressure cooker or a pan and add water.
- Pressure cook it for 2 whistles or pan cook by closing a lid for about 10 - 15 minutes. Once cooked transfer the cooked pumpkin pieces to a blender jar and add a pinch of cinnamon powder. You can even use cumin or pepper powder to flavor the puree.
- Blend it to a fine puree and the Pumpkin puree is ready to be served.
- Serve it immediately or cool and freeze in ice cube tray. Frozen puree cubes can then be stored in zip lock covers for further use.

Note :
1. Be sure to select a fresh pumpkin.
2. Deep yellow should be the color of it when cut open.
3. Its always good to talk to a pediatrician before introducing solids.
4. You can add another fruit or vegetable with pumpkin for 7 month + babies
5. You can also use the steaming method to make the puree.
