MOONG RAGI PORRIDGE POWDER For Babies

Moong or Green Gram is a legume extensively used in baby food. Split green gram or yellow moong is highly recommended during first few days of solid introduction. Further you can start giving Green Gram or Whole Moong for babies. Green Gram is high in protein and dietary fiber and it is also good for immunity. Ragi or Finger Millet is another famous baby food ingredient used in this porridge for babies. Ragi is rich in calcium and helps prevent anemia in babies. Together this Moong Ragi Porridge Powder is a great food for babies and toddlers. 

Babies, toddlers, kids require high amount of protein for their overall development. The combination of Moong & Ragi is a protein rich powder which is very essential for the growth & development of babies and toddlers. This can be given to 6 months + babies after introducing basic solids.

Moong Ragi Porridge Powder for Babies and Toddlers

Protein rich, homemade, easy to make Moong Ragi porridge powder for your babies. Helps in overall growth & development of babies & toddlers.

Ingredients

  1. Green Gram/ Moong - 1/2 cup
  2. Ragi / Nachni / Finger Millet - 1/2 cup
  3. Rice - 1/2 cup
  4. Dry Ginger - 1/2 inch
  5. Cardamom - 1

Method

  1. Take a thick bottom pan and add green gram or whole moong and roast it for 8 minutes until it is half roasted. Later add rice along with green gram and roast it for 4 minutes.
  2. Further add finger millet or ragi and roast it for another 4 minutes. This way we can save time and roast all the ingredients well. You can also opt to roast all ingredients separately. At the end add cardamom and roast for another 1 minute.
  3. Take out all the ingredients in a plate and allow to cool completely. Transfer it later to a mixer grinder and add dry ginger.
  4. Make a fine powder and store it in a glass jar for further use.
  5. Now whenever you need to prepare porridge, take 1 tbsp of Moong Ragi Porridge Mix and add water or milk to make a lump free mixture.
  6. Put it on the flame and keep mixing till the porridge thickens to required consistency. Add ghee if required.
  7. Moong Ragi Porridge is ready to be served.
