Oats added gives a healthy twist to this Maddur Vada recipe. Madhur vada is a good finger food for your toddlers & kids. Can be enjoyed for morning breakfast, lunch / snack box recipe or have with with your tea time break. Can be given to 8 months + babies (minus salt).

MADDUR VADA for Toddlers, Kids & Family

Ingredients

  • Oats - 1 cup
  • Rice flour - 1/2 cup
  • Samolina/ Sooji (Fine)- 1/2 cup
  • Onion - 1 finely chopped
  • Green Chillies - 4
  • Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  • Curry Leaves - 10 chopped
  • Hing - a pinch
  • Oil (for the dough) - 2 tbsp heated
  • Peanuts - 4 tbsp crushed
  • Salt - as needed

Method

  • Mix all the ingredients in a bowl
  • Add 2 tbsp of hot oil and knead a soft dough
  • Rest it for 5 minutes & make small balls of the dough
  • Press the small balls with hand  to form a vada shape (Please note do not make the vada too thin as it will become very hard after frying)
  • Deep fry the vada until golden brown color
  • Enjoy Maddur vada with green chutney or ketchup or as it is
