Green Gram Khichdi - Quick and Healthy Protein Rich Breakfast Recipe

Green gram khichdi is a wholesome dish and a good source of protein and carbohydrates. It is easy to digest and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. It can be served with curd or pickle, and is a great option for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  1. Green Gram - ½ Cup
  2. Toor dal - ¼ Cup
  3. Rice - 1 Cup
  4. Spinach Leaves - ½ Bunch
  5. Carrot - 1
  6. Potato - 1
  7. Onion - 1
  8. Tomato - 1
  9. Cumin - ¼ tsp
  10. Ginger(grated or crushed) - 1 inch
  11. Garlic - 5 pods

    Masala :-

  1. Chili Powder - 1 tsp
  2. Turmeric Powder - ¼ tsp
  3. Pepper Powder - ½ tsp
  4. Garam Masala - ½ tsp
  5. Coriander Powder - 1 tsp
  6. Salt - 1 tsp 

Tadka :-

  1. Oil
  2. Mustard Seeds
  3. Dried Red chili
  4. Few Curry Leaves

 

Method

  1. Initially pressure cook the Green gram and Toor dal for 1 whistle.
  2. On the other side, keep the vegetables like carrot, potato, onion, tomato, ginger garlic paste, chopped palak and cumin.
  3. Meanwhile, prepare the masala. Take a small bowl and add in powdered spices like  Chilly powder, Turmeric powder, Pepper powder, Garam Masala, Coriander powder, little water and make a paste.
  4. Once the dal is cooked add in the above mentioned vegetables, rice, masala and salt as per your taste.
  5. Now pan cook or pressure cook the Green Gram Khichdi for 3 whistles.
  6. Finally serve the hot Protein Rich Green Gram Khichdi by adding lemon juice and tadka.

Method of making Green Gram Khichdi – Quick and Healthy Protein Rich Breakfast Recipe.

1. Initially pressure cook the Green gram and Toor dal for 1 whistle
