• Babies: 6 months to 12 months – 1 tsp to 1 tbsp of Raisins. 2 tsp to 2 tbsp of Raisins Syrup

Dry Grapes or Raisins Syrup for Babies - The Best Natural Sweetener for Weaning Baby

Ingredients
- Dry Grapes or Raisins - 1/2 cup
- Water - 1 1/2 cup
- Lemon Juice - 1 tsp (optional)
- Cinnamon Powder - a pinch (optional)
- Jaggery Powder - 1 tbsp (optional)
Method
- Take Dry Grapes or Raisins, rinse it and add it to a pan. Add required amount of water, cinnamon powder. With the lid closed cook the mixture on medium flame.
- Keep mixing in between to avoid raisins sticking to the pan. Add jaggery powder when the raisins are almost cooked and allow it to just melt and switch of the flame.
- Once well cooked you can observe that the raisins are swollen. Once cooled you can now transfer the mixture to a blender jar and make a puree.
- Add the puree to the same pan and boil the mixture until it thickens. Do not forget to keep mixing it in between.

Method of making Dry Grapes or Raisins Syrup for Babies :
1. Take Dry Grapes or Raisins, rinse them and add them to a pan. Add the required amount of water, cinnamon powder. With the lid closed cook the mixture on medium flame.
2. Keep mixing in between to avoid raisins sticking to the pan. Add jaggery powder when the raisins are almost cooked and allow it to just melt and switch of the flame.
3. Once well cooked you can observe that the raisins are swollen. Once cooled you can now transfer the mixture to a blender jar and make a puree.
4. Add the puree to the same pan and boil the mixture until it thickens. Do not forget to keep mixing it in between.
5. Once the mixture thickens and reduces in quantity you can stop boiling it and allow it to cool. Once cooled you can add few drops of lemon(optional) and transfer it to a Bottle.
6. Dry Grapes or Raisins is now ready, a great natural sweetener for your baby food. You can add this to puree, mashed food, porridges. Use it as a dip for any finger foods too.

Note :
1. Don’t make it a habit as it can develop a sweet tooth in babies.
2. It’s not a great idea to repeat any food on a daily basis.
3. You can store this sweetener in the refrigerator and use it for about 15 days. Fresh is always good.
