Bottle gourd Halwa with Coconut Sugar is a guilt-free treat for little ones. With goodness from bottle gourd – a less used super healthy vegetable and coconut sugar – chemical-free non-bleached jaggery variety, it is one of the best desserts to offer people of all ages.
Bottle gourd is full of vital minerals, iron, proteins, and vitamins; additionally, it is full of fiber. Coconut sugar is rich in iron, zinc, potassium, and magnesium. Unlike sugar which has zero nutrition or empty calories, coconut sugar is a great replacement for babies and toddlers.

Bottle Gourd Halwa with Coconut Sugar

Ingredients
- Bottle Gourd – 1 small size
- Dry Fruits Powder – 2 tbsp
- Coconut Sugar – ¼ cup
- Ghee – 2 tsp
- Cardamom Powder – a pinch
- Cashew – 10
- Pista – 10
- Kesar – 2 twigs
- Milk – 1 ½ cup
Method
- Take a wide pan, add ghee heat until it melts. To this add chopped Pista & Cashewnuts.
- Fry it for 2 minutes and keep it aside. We will add this after the halwa is ready.
- To the same pan, add de-skinned & grated bottle gourd along with ghee. Fry for about 5 to 10 minutes on a low flame until the raw smell of the bottle gourd is gone.
- Once done, add milk with Kesar. You can soak a few twigs of Kesar beforehand and keep it ready.
- Add Dry fruits powder, this enhances the taste and gives a nice flavor. Continue to cook for about 15 minutes until the milk and bottle gourd mixture thickens.
- Add Coconut Sugar - This is a healthy natural sweetener from TOTS and MOMS foods. Mix well to ensure sugar is dissolved.
- Continue to cook until desired consistency is attained, add fried nuts, and top it with additional ghee.
- Delicious Bottle gourd Halwa with Coconut Sugar is ready to be served.
