BARLEY MOONG KHICHDI for Babies, Toddlers, Kids & Family

Barley moong khichdi is a wholesome weight gaining food for the baby's and toddlers and a natural power packed meal for instant energy.

Ingredients

  1. Barley - 1/4 cup
  2. Moong Dal - 2 tbsp
  3. Oil/ Ghee/ Butter - 1 tsp
  4. Curry Leaves - 4-5 numbers
  5. Cumin Seeds - 1/4 tsp
  6. Asafoetida - Pinch
  7. Turmeric Powder - Pinch
  8. Pepper - Pinch
  9. Salt - Optional

Method

  1. Add Oil/ Ghee/ Butter - 1 tsp, Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp  and 4-5 Curry leaves, now add Barley - 1/4 cup and Moong Dal - 2 tbsp.
  2. Now add a pinch of Pepper, Turmeric, Asafoetida, and Salt (Optional) and add 1 cup Water.
  3. Give a quick stir and close the cooker and allow 3 whistles.
  4. After the cooker cools down mix it and serve to the serving bowl.
  5. Barley Moong Khichdi is ready to serve for baby's and toddlers.

  1. Barley – 1/4 cup
  2. Moong Dal – 2 tbsp
  3. Oil/ Ghee/ Butter – 1 tsp
  4. Curry Leaves – 4-5 numbers

  6. Asafoetida – Pinch

Method of cooking Barley Moong Khichdi :

1. Take a pan, add Oil/ Ghee/ Butter, Cumin seeds and Curry leaves, now add Barley  and Moong Dal

3. Give a quick stir and close the cooker and allow 3 whistles.

 Note :

  1. Consult pediatrician before introducing any new food to baby.
  2. You can mash or grind the mixture if necessary.
  3. Add spices and salt according to babies age and liking. 
  4. If there is a family history of gluten allergy or celiac disease you may have to carefully introduce barley to babies.
