But on the contrary these toddlers selectively pick them off their dish very creatively with reasons unknown. Well here is a mimicked dish for toddlers and kids from not picking the greens out and finishing their spinach in a jiffy and enjoying thoroughly.

Ingredients

  • Spinach Leaves – 2 bunch(roughtly chopped)
  • Sathumavu Health Mix – ½ cup (optional)
  • Besan – ½ cup (use 1 cup if skipping Sathumavu Health Mix)
  • Rice flour – 2 tsp
  • Asafetida – ½ tsp
  • Turmeric – 1 tsp
  • Salt – as required
  • Sesame seeds – 1 tsp
  • Chilly Powder – 1 ½ tsp

Method

  • Add Sathumavu health mix, Besan and Rice flour all the dry flours to the mixing bowl, quantity as specified above.
  • Now add turmeric and asafetida to the mixing bowl containing the flour mixture
  • Taste makers salt, sesame seeds and chilly powder are added as per the requirement.
  • Once all the dry ingredients are added to the mixing bowl, give a quick mix.
  • Add little water to make a lump free paste of the ingredients.
  • Some more water could be added to get thick pakoda batter consistency.
  • Pour the sathu pakoda batter to another bowl containing washed and cleaned spinach whole leaves
  • Mix the spinach leaves and the sathu pakoda batter well
  • Now deep fry whole spinach leaves mixed with batter on a medium flame.
  • Hot, tasty and tempting Spinach Sathu Pakoda is ready to be served for your toddlers and family.
