Ingredients

  • Little Millet Seviya – 1 pack (180 grams)
  • Oil – ¼ cup
  • Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Curry Leaves – 8-10 pieces
  • Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp (Optional)
  • Onion – 1 chopped
  • Chilli – 6-8 small
  • Turmeric – ½ tsp
  • Water - 1 cup boiled
  • Coriander leaves
  • Coconut Grated – Optional
  • Salt

Method

  • The above mentioned ingredients are made accessible and ready to use. Let’s add 1/4 cup Oil to a heated non-stick pan and allow the Oil to reach its boiling point. Add Mustard seeds to the heated Oil. We can add Cumin seeds 1 tsp as well but it's optional.
  • Once the Mustard seed starts popping add Urad dal and Chana dal each 1 tsp. Now add Curry leave about 8 to 10 in numbers.
  • Once they fry add  6-8 sliced chillies and 1 finely chopped Onion. Mix well and allow to cook till the Onion gets transparent. Now add Turmeric to the ingredients and mix well.
  • Now add 1 cup boiling water to the non-stick pan and Salt is added as per taste.
  • To the boiling mixture on the non-stick pan squeeze half a Lime. This is the right time to add our Little Millet Semiyaan to the mixture on the non-stick pan.
  • Mix the ingredients well and close the lid for the Little Millet Semiyaan to cook well for 10 minutes. Now add Ghee 1 tsp for taste and easy digestion.
  • Once the ingredients are mixed well and Little Millet Semiyaan is cooked appropriately add Coriander leaves.
  • Hot tasty and healthy Little Millet Semiyaan Upma is ready to be served to your family and kids and toddlers and most importantly to your babies.
